Assessment and preparation of the mouth before the initiation of cancer therapy
Modern oncology therapies, despite the immense success in oncology medications and techniques, continue to be related with complications in the oral cavity. These complications may lead to interruptions of cancer therapy or dose reductions, which may adversely affect the success of your therapy. Oral complications, during and after cancer therapy, may reduce your quality of life.
The assessment and preparation of the mouth before the initiation of cancer therapy can prevent and reduce the oral complications during and after therapy. Cancer therapy will be completed within the preplanned time, with increased success, without interruptions or dose modifications.
Ideally, a comprehensive oral and dental assessment should be performed 2 to 4 weeks before the initiation of cancer therapy.
We plan your dental prevention and management plan, in collaboration with your Oncology team. We consider, in each case, your individual problem and your systemic health status.
